Thank you all. I like painting moody skies, although the Cornish weather was fine and cloudless for the whole of the August Bank Holiday. On the day I took the source photo my husband and I watched the sun set for about an hour. It got cold as the last of the light faded - and we missed last orders at the fish and chip shop!

Love the thick juicy paint Bobby. The mount is set beautifully against that gorgeous sky.

The weather yesterday was vile - perfect for catching up with some of the photos I took on holiday in Cornwall last August inside with a heater on! The sky was cloudless the day we watched the light fade at sunset from the sea-front car park in Marazion. I has great fun painting St Michaels Mount "alla prima" in oils. I began by adding blocks of colour with a large flat brush, and then completed most of the rest with knives.
