Very effective, I particularly like the stonework.

Thanks everyone. I do like going out with the Friday Group. You never know exactly what you're going to paint, which is a good thing because it tests our skills and makes us tackle different subjects.

On Friday I was out with the Ludlow Friday Group painting en plein air at Snodhill Castle, a ruined Norman stronghold right off the beaten track overlooking the Golden Valley near Dorstone in Herefordshire. I was using soft pastels and pastel pencils on 50 x 40 cm olive green mountboard. The castle was acquired by a local trust and opened to the public in 2016, and I'm sure I've seen it on the Big Dig.
