I love colour and this really sings with it, I think it's fab. That article in TA sounds really interesting I'll have to get myself a copy.

This is great. I thought I recognised the style. However, this is still yours, if that makes sense.

This works for me :)

A beautiful rich flood of colour across the forefront. Nothing poor about it

Mick, thanks for your thoughts. I think that's what makes a site like this worthwhile. I like the unexpected colours on your palette for this one, the blue and green!

Thanks for the visits and comments Folks. Best Mick

My poor effort at taking a lesson from Doug Eaton. I took the composition from P17, May's TA. I covered the sheet with a patchwork of colour, not his, as I don't have those colours in pastel, and I'm not one to try and mix pastels.. I found, rather quickly, that a better effect is gained by drawing in the trees, then filling the gaps, rather than drawing the trees on top, I have always liked this form of painting, with blocks of colour forming a patchwork, or even a stained glass effect. I will now have to practice more, and perhaps , using my own way, integrate this way with my own work. Rowney soft pastels, Rembrandt soft pastels, charcoal stick, on Sennelier pastel card, mouse grey, image size, 12"x9". I've found that Rembrandt sticks are rather hard, too hard for my liking; however, that hardness certainly has its good points when needed for drawing in bits and pieces.
