Hi Mick, this is great, I love the way it looks as if a storm cloud is passing overhead and a bit of sun has momentarily burst through. The warm buff brings it all together very well. You're inspiring me to get the pastels and charcoal out, though I find it even harder to be loose with them than with watercolours.

Yes, it has that moody intense look - caught just before that rain cloud burst. You can almost feel the wind whipping up.

Fooling about doodling from memory and a quick sketch made on the back of an envelope before the rain came. Track and fields at the 20 foot road, March. rowney soft pastel, Rowney hard pastel, Derwent charcoal pencil (hard) on Sennellier pastel card, buff colour, image size 2.5"x2".
