5min Blue - belated entry

A bit late to the party Bill but a lovely painting with some beautiful shades of blue and in 5 mins too, impressed!

Always like to see the challenge paintings here Bill..Well done!

But you did it Bill, see what you can actually achieve in just 5mins! Excellent result. This is a great image by the way, have you thought of working it up more?

Great blue challenge Bill, like it.

Thanks very much everyone, but Phew! I'm not going to try a strict 5 minute sketch again in a hurry! Too much like an examiner saying "5 minutes to go then you must stop writing immediately". I was genuinely starting to panic & fluster, and it took me quite a while to wind down!
Fiona, yes, this is an island off the coast of Skye called Flodigarry (well, with a lot of vertical exagerration to dramatise it!) and I have done a couple of colour sketches with a view to a possible, more considered, painting. Maybe once I get a house built.........

Lovely, lovely , lovely. I think throwing caution to the wind and just"going for it " achieves so much, this is a good example. Sad you got your Knicks in a twist, do it again and just think to yourself that it really doesn't matter . It really is supposed to be FUN.

Thanks, Sylvia. It was the 5 mins bit that got to me - I think with 10 I'd have been fine. My fault, I guess I wanted to say more than I could possibly accomplish in 5 mins!

I don't think you have to do any of these challenges in 5 mins (unless you choose to) but having said that, you've done an amazing job in producing this super painting in such a short time and using just one colour.

Thanks Thea. No, exceeding the 5 min deadline obviously wasn't a hanging offence! And, yes it was largely self-imposed, although I think Alan Bickley originally had the 5 min idea. But I prefer a more open-ended approach to make it really fun!

Just picked up on this challenge. Biro, wax candle, watercolour & gouache. Good grief, 5 mins can't be that short, surely?? Done to a kitchen timer, so every last second wrung out of it! I have to say, unlike the yellow, that wasn't fun: hugely stressful with the seconds ticking down in front of you!
