Nice gentle light coming through the trees Brian.

Very realistic, it almost feel like I can touch the trees.

What a lovely place Brian. We too, have lovely ancient woods where we are and I walk there every day with our dogs and my thoughts if alone. A special place, may it always stay that way. Anyway a beautiful painting.

There's something special about such places, and your great painting has done it justice. Great sunlight streaming through.

What a stunning place to go for a walk and so well painted.

Thank you very much, Marjorie, Isabelle, Heather, Lewis and Dixie, for the highly encouraging responses. Appreciated. I've lightened the grass a tad in a quick (very quick) revision to further emphasise the sunlight creeping through the trees. These places ARE special so it was great to read how you all reacted to the idea of the woods providing a pleasant retreat. Best to all Bri

Beautiful work Brian, I can see why you walk there so often, special indeed.

Thank you very much, Russell, for the kind reply. Always appreciated. Bri

I echo Marjorie and Isabelle's comments. Fabulous painting Brian 😀

Thank you very much, Pauline, for the generous comments. I'm revising this one again (as is my wont) to intensify the light and tighten the detail. Sorry for the late reply but I'm not long out of hospital after suffering a concussion. Bri

50 x 40 cms, oil on canvas. This painting shows one of the many footpaths through Oakenbank Woods, a woodland very close to where I live. I've used a touch of artistic licence but it essentially shows some aspects of the wood. I walk here almost every day, often alone with my thoughts.
