You can go on forever can't you Brian - I'm forever doing it. I can see the sunlight on the top of the waves, the credibility of the sea. A very nice painting - oil or acrylic? I'm thinking oil.

You can indeed, Marjorie. They say a poem is only finished when the poet dies and I think artists suffer from the same problem. LOL. Thanks for the warm comments and analysis. Much appreciated. Brian

Wonderful waves, Brian, great dynamism and realism.

YES IT LOOKS FINISHED BRIAN AND VERY NICE INDEED

Thank you very much, Cesare and Dennis, for the generous comments. Always appreciated. "Dynamism and realism" will do for me, Cesare! LOL I'll tuck this one away now, Dennis. Thanks for the nod. It's always difficult to know just when to stop. Best to both Brian

I hadn't realised the earlier version wasn't finished. I thought it was a fantastic painting, and it still is. Great work, Brian.

Lovely oil painting Brian. You should be proud.

Thanks again, Lewis, for looking at the original and this revision. Very much appreciated. I wasn't sure if it was finished, or not, so I left it for a bit. The first wave, as we look at it, was bothering me and then I realised the wave wasn't connecting correctly to the layer of water behind it. The viewing angle meant there would be more of a smooth transition than I originally presented. Whilst I was on with it I fiddled with the other waves and highlights, seeing as the paint was dry. I'm pleased I didn't ruin it. Been there. *lol* Brian

Thank you very much, Linda, for the kind words of encouragement. Appreciated. Brian

It's beautiful work Brian.

Thanks, Margaret. I'm pleased the revisions worked. I'll leave this one alone, now. Famous last words! LOL Brian

Thank you very much for letting me know, Maureen. Appreciated. Brian

Don’t touch it Brian, it’s blindingly beautiful!

Thank you very much, Fiona. I promise I won't touch it. I'm pretty much happy with this now, and it's on my wall drying until I'm told to remove it. *smile* Brian

Excellent work Brian

Thank you very much, Dermot. Appreciated. I know you're quite partial to a seascape yourself. Brian

Oil on canvas, 50 x 40 cms. I've added to this one, revising the first two waves quite considerably, adding highlights, changing the angle of the second breaking wave and connecting the first wave to the layer of water above. I think it's helped to unify the waves. I'm calling this one finished.
