Along the old canal at Chalford
Chalford is a very attractively situated in a deep valley near Stroud. The Thames & Severn Canal was constructed through here in the 1780s to provide a route to London. Though the canal became abandoned over 100 years ago, the towpath remains as a wonderful local walk and there are so many scenes here to inspire the artist. Painted in acrylic on 16" square canvas board.
