Looks like it was a difficult scene to paint Barry with all those trees but you've managed it really well 😀

It captures the scene perfectly, Barry. I'm very much a grecophile and find this scene totally believable. The olive trees, goatherd, goats, the background mountain and muted colours, evoke memories galore. The foreground wisps of vegetation is a super touch. I love that foreground tree btw. Bri

A good composition in the end Barry, nothing worse than using someone's holiday snap to work from. Love the figure and animals.

It turned out really well Barry, a tricky composition but it looks great.

I think you made a great job of it.

Love it, Barry, very Greek with those lovely olive trees, and the light shining on the goats and the goatherd!

Thanks to everyone for such supportive comments I was always struggling to make it work and was pleased to get some sort of result and really surprised it appeared on the top gallery.

Thank you Przemila

To help this I added the figure and used a bright colour to pull the eye into the picture. My struggle to get it to work meant that he didn’t get the usual level of tuition but hopefully showed the struggle we often have in painting and the importance of good composition. Not my best but a good exercise.
