I've been watching those programmes. Don't you think the average amateur artists are of a higher level in general nowadays probably because of the vast amount of instruction and information available through social media on the internet or do you think I'm imagining it. It would be interesting if they revived that show that to see today's standard. Put your name forward as a presenter. Your work puts you in the running.

A great painting Barry. I've been watching those old programmes with Hanna Gordon too, can't believe they were made nearly 20 years ago! As Brian says, the quality of amateur artists has certainly improved since then.

Thank you Brian, Margaret and Fiona. From the watercolour challenge programs I have watched I must agree that the standard of watercolours produced by amateur artists have in my opinion improved. A good debate could follow.

I was watching some of the old watercolour challenge programs the other day and this was the challenge and I thought as I hadn't done many landscapes recently I would give it a go. Painted on Bockingford extra rough 200lb half imperial. I deliberately kept it very simple and loose.
