Love those contrasting colours Sandra , almost an abstract.

Thank-you for your encouraging comment Sylvia. It is more abstract than realistic, sort of a foot in each camp.

I have never been able to get to grips with acrylics but I think you have some lovely colours in your painting.

Hi Sandra,Your art is all based around shapes and those shapes coloured in. A style is developing, just keep going, semi-abstract is a good art form. If you are not happy with it put it out of sight for a couple of weeks then look at it you will see what needs to be done. Love the process and have fun.

I know just how you feel!!! However I love your colours. For me the only thing I’d fiddle with would be the flowers in the immediate foreground, grasses maybe??

Some gorgeous colours in this Sandra. I don't know much about acrylics as I haven't used them for years.

Margaret and Linda, thank-you for your positive comments regarding my colours.

John, thank-you for that analysis, and for encouraging me to develop a style. While I won't fiddle with this one now (the main change I would make would show the correction too much), I know how I would do a different version. And yes, I do enjoy the process, just get a bit discouraged sometimes.

Anne, thank-you for looking and for suggesting grasses for the foreground. That would be something to incorporate in the next version, when it happens.

It's pretty good Sandra I love the palette

Thank-you very much Dermot.

Acrylic 16x16" on canvas. Not entirely happy with it but it has gone too far to fiddle with it. Started out based on one of Soraya French's but it took on a life of its own. May do a second version and try to get it better. Any critique welcome.

About the Artist
Sandra Kennedy

I became hooked on painting when I joined an evening class on painting "Abstracts in Acrylic" some years ago. Now retired, I was painting fairly regularly until the last couple of years when I've had a "creative drought". This year I'm getting back into painting, concentrating on abstract.
