As I find it hard to understand abstracts, Sandra, I go instead for the colours. This is what I call very soothing. If you find out there is a place such as this, please let me know and I will be there like a shot.

Adele I don't think that this is classed as true abstract as it does have a bit of a connection to landscape (the mountains have a slight resemblance to some of our mountains here and there is usually water in front of them). I am never quite sure how to fill out the questionnaire attached to the upload. What I would like to aim for is what Soraya French describes as "contemporary landscape", unless I go back to doing completely abstract. Have been watching some YouTube videos with that in mind and yes some abstracts are just about the colour. While it would be lovely if I did find such a place for you it would be a very long shot for you to come (other end of the planet).

Yes, of course this doesn't fit the criteria of a true Abstract and I understand from your bio. that you are painting semi-abstracts. I think Sandra, that this might have a touch of "surrealism" in it. However, whatever label we put on it, it is lovely. Perhaps we put too much emphasis on labels and should just enjoy the unique painting style of each artist.

Thank-you for your second comment Adele. I'm usually at a bit of a loss to describe the style I'm aiming for, when asked. I don't know if "semi-abstract" is a real term, it just seemed to fit. I might be wrong about that though!

Lovely colours and a nice feeling of light in this Sandra. (You mentioned Soraya French - I've just bought her book 'Contemporary Landscapes in Mixed Media' - it's excellent and has given me lots of inspiration for things to try.)
