You have chosen a very prominent part of the castle so wisely Anne. The stone work and detail are very skilfully painted and the shadows and sunlight make the painting special.

Nicely drawn and you have some great strong contrasting shadows…that always helps with the illusion of being three-dimensional!

It’s so beautifully done Anne , very skilfully drawn the detailing is enough to make it work without the fussiness. Your choice of palette is really good particularly for the shadows and shaded areas .

Line and wash on W/c paper 140lbs rough. Ref. own photo. The castle, built in 1069 is the home of the Duke of N/land. It's been used for many filming locations such as Harry Potter and Downton Abbey.
