Anni, This is just lovely. it's a smashing composition, it brought a little tear to my eye. I am sure your Mum would be very proud of you because you certainly have talent. I also think art and gardening go hand in hand. I am an avid gardener an painter myself. Keep up you wonderful work.

Hi Jeanette, Thanks for viewing and commenting on this painting. Yes, I have many fond and precious memories of my mum bringing in flowers from the garden and transforming a white page into sprays of lilac, buddleia or Ena Harkness roses. I would have been a preschooler then. She started working in a West London art studio at the age of 14 and when war broke out had to go and work in an ammunitions factory (oh the chalk and cheese huh?). She used to paint greetings card by hand, lampshades and later when she had my eldest brother glassware for Selfridges Department store. Yes, I'll always paint...it is a need and a joy. ~ Anni :)

I painted this with my dear Mum in mind. Thanks to her I have two important loves in my life ~ art (she used to paint in front of me as a young child...and flowers ~ she taught me about gardening and the sheer joy of growing things). I am the child and I picked her the biggest bunch imaginable. Thanks Mum, if you are looking down ~ Anni :) Visit me at: www.angelfire.com/art2/annimorris/
