Powerful painting, Andrew, and an original perspective on Gethsemane...

Thank you Jan; yes, I couldn't find any painting at all of Jesus in Gethsemane looking towards Jerusalem, but it's difficult to believe he wasn't at least looking in that direction; peace and love; God bless and Happy Easter for when it comes, Andy x

Thank you Linda; God bless and Happy Easter for when it comes, Andy x

A most powerful and stunning piece of work, Andy. Absolutely overpowering.😍

Thank you Jacqueline fro that lovely feedback; peace and love, and Happy Easter for when it comes; God bless, Andy x

For those who not been to Gethsemane, a lovely, simple garden of ancient olive tree are tended by monks from a local monastery; we don't know what it was like in Jesus' day except that since olives are one of the trees that thrives in the arid south of Israel, it's likely that there would have been these wonderfully shaped and gnarled trees adorning a place that was attactive enough to be described as a 'garden' in a time and country where all land needed to be productive to support not just the people of Israel but the occupying Roman army

Thank you for your comments on this piece; its always tricky when the subject matter can be a little disturbing so all the more appreciated to get your feedback on it; love and God bless, Andy x
