Angel of the North

Very impressive, Linda. Good idea to add some figures so you can see the proportions. Great work on the sky too.

Great sense of the sheer size of this fantastic sculpture, lovely sky colours and mood

Really like the perspective

Great painting Linda, I agree with all that’s been said. The rust colouring is really good.

Good angle adds to the interest factor Linda, and the figures also. Nice work.

Great work Linda, agree everyone else too!

Not an easy subject to draw, the temptation being to make the further wing too long. I know as I have tackled the same subject in pen and ink. By the way, Inktense can be difficult, being so rich in pigment- but then you have toned it down with watercolour and produced a splendid image.

So beautifully painted

Thank you all for your comments and views. Frank, I only used a small amount of Inktense on the iron wings and main body, the rest was all watercolour.

Another fantastic pen and wash Linda, agree with others about the inclusion of figures, great way to show the scale of the sculpture.
