Bluebell wood, Wickersley

Wow Linda, love the way you have painted this. The lack of detail is so liberating for the viewer. The colours are so subtlety harmonious and it must look stunning hanging on the wall.

Absolutely superb, watched it developing in the forum, great painting Linda.

Very well captured atmosphere Linda, spot on.

This is a lovely painting, very calming to look at.

Excellent lighting and superbly painted.

This is painted with confidence Linda, as it should be. Very skilful use of colour and tone. I’ve watched it developing on the forum and you must be delighted with it!

Linda this is wonderful, gorgeous passages of light from the spring sunshine, set off by the deeper shadowed areas. Lovely soft and subtle palette.....a painting to be proud of.

A lovely result Linda, your choice of palette makes this stand out.

Beautiful painting.

Lovely feeling of light in this, Linda.

Thank you all for such a lovely comments and views on my painting, I really enjoyed painting this, the bluebells covered the wood in the original ref. photo, but i wanted to keep them to a minimum and not overdo them with just a hint of flower here and there.

Ohh that shaft of light and the silver birch 👌

Beautiful Linda, we have had abundance of bluebells this year.

Thanks Jen and Carole for taking the time to look and for your comments.

Hang on Studio Wall

Bluebells in the woods are always great inspiration for a painting, my ref. photo for this one was taken by my daughter on her daily dog walk. I havn't stuck exactly to the photo but drew a quick sketch first with where I wanted lights and dark and took it from there. Thanks to Alan and Robert for their help and advice. Oils on the dreaded box canvas lol, size 12 x 12
