'Hung Out to Dry, Cadgwith' Graphite & Carbon 23 x 69cm by Alice Hole
In this drawing, I wanted to capture the hard-working nature of this small, beautiful natural harbour on The Lizard in Cornwall. The rough textures of the weather-worn granite, the shingle battered by the tide, and the frayed rope, hanging by a rusty nail, drying in the sun, echo the difficult and precarious industry that has been here for as long as there have been people.
