Excellent and so beautifully done.

A brilliant job.

Oh my, a wonderful pastel and the squishy silver tubes marvellous!

How on earth do you do that with pastels? Unbelievably good!

The detail is amazing. How big is it Alexandra? To get the detail I’m assuming it must be quite big.

Wow . . . . . . .!

With soft pastel?! Amazing skill Alexandra.

Absolutely brilliant Alexandra!

Wow incredible

Amazed at the writing on the tubes- superb! What make of pastel pencils have you used?

Excellent pastel painting.

Thank you all for the great comments - glad you like my paint tubes! To answer the various questions: The painting is 30cm x 20cm, so not really big. And I use a variety of pastels, mainly though Unison, Caran d'Ache and Rembrandt. I used Caran d'Ache pastel pencils for the writing (lots of sharpening in between...) I think they are the best, soft but not crumbly and wonderfully intense.

Brilliant

Very impressive.

The metallic sheen on the tubes is beautifully and skilfully rendered.

Incredible detail! Another question, may I ask what surface you used?

Thanks again for your comments coming in! To answer Sarah's question: I always use Clairefontaine pastelmat paper, for this painting I chose the anthracite one (but I still blackened the background with pastels).

So beautifully painted, Alexandra.

I love this pastel, it truly looks just like the real thing with the wrinkled tubes and writing. Congratulations on a fine piece.

That is brilliant, so accurate.
