Apart from the lovely portrayal of the individual elements, there is something about this painting that I find really attractive - and I am not sure what it is! Perhaps it is the view point - as if I am lying in the road and seeing the scene from low eye level. Could that be it? Whatever it is, I love it.

I love these gentle scenes, they are so peaceful.

Hi Lionel /Karl notice the patch of light comming through the hedge on the right would look better if taken accross the road and into the other hedge as a patch of light yes I preffer a low horzon rather than an over head view looking down from above .thanks for the comments

Very nice light. I love it

As always Alan a lesson in how to do it right. Could I ask if you paint in the distant hills after you have painted the trees?

with this one Fiona ,yes carefully.but its up to you ,some times if the hill is a strong colour it could show on the things like trees ect in the nearer foreground ,you can wash out the mountain colours with clean water as they reach the horizon line or where you intend your trees or buildings to be thanks for looking and take care . ps//dont be frightened of using darks ,although I dont use white watercolour I think it can be usefull ,a dry brush of white stroked accross a loch looks nice .for a flock of white gulls against a blue mountain with the ones above in the sky done dark /

Like Lionel says, I don't know why, but I think this is gorgeous - the light the colours.
