What amazing colour, Alan, I really enjoy seeing your work. Wonderful light flashes made I assume, by the mackerel, and the subdued background is just right. Lovely work.

Hi The Jedi aka Alan, as you know I'm not a fan of watercolour...the classic opening...but I love the elegant simplicity of this modern sky-line landscape with its elegant near-monotone...the understated elegance...OK add a bit of info' Size? name of the fort?.

I like the colour harmony, makes a nice, restful painting. Same view in the opposite direction ie fort with IOW in the background is very familiar to me in my Pompey days. Should go down well at your exhibition. All the best.

Thank you for taking the time out to comment. Phil this is actually done in acrylic, not watercolour. The fort is the Spitbank fort situated just outside Portsmouth where if you're lucky shoals of Mackeral chase small fry and bigger Bass chase the Mackeral!! It's a 15x7 (in old money).

Inspired by a days fishing last year on the Solent. Portsmouth in the background. A pair of Peregrine Falcons took up residence on the Fort and nested there.
