Lovely. THe play of the light on the water is so effective.

The light reflection is fascinating in this painting.

The reflections are very good indeed but the branches and leaves look a bit stiff; maybe need to be more in shadow with just a little light filtering through.

This is quite special Alan.

What a lovely picture. Stunning portrayal of the water you can almost feel the heat from the sun above. When painting leaves like this I try and alter the direction of the brush stokes to give a random effect, sometimes turning the board upside down so it's easier to paint away from you. In the direction of the growth as it were. But hell if I were ever this good ! Well Done !

Alan, your portfolio is superb, it's the first time I have seen it all. I do like what I see. Thank you for your comments on Mediterranean Jug, it feels a bit heavy-handed to me, but perhaps it is that it's bolder than my usua work. .
