Unusual and Striking Alan. Love the bold approach. Nice work.

Love the semi abstract image, water really well portrayed Alan.

Love all the subtle shades of blue used here Alan and the contrast between the bold rocks and tranquil, shimmering, water.

Gorgeous Alan, the texture and lovely colour. You must be running out of that blue by now!

Lovely work Alan, the water in the foreground is superbly done.

Superb, Alan, especially those very convincing ripples in the foreground in and around the reflections...not easy to get those right!

Very striking interpretation of this beautiful scene and you have captured it perfectly with your confident marks - and great colour Alan.

You bring out the sunshine in your paintings Alan!

I really like the strength of simplicity in the composition, and your striking blue palette echoes this aspect. Great painting Alan.

A wonderful striking impression of this landmark Alan.

Great textures, Alan.

Thanks everyone for your comments and encouragement.

Oil on board 25 x 40cm. I painted a small series of rock stacks from around our coast last year. They are really simple subjects and you can be quite expressive by using plenty of oil paint, vibrant colours and some bold knife and brush strokes. Old Harry was missed out, so I’ve painted it from a couple of angles, this is the second one.
