A great atmospheric painting, Alan. Love the depth and perspective, an unusual view but very special.

The light in this is beautiful, Alan.

You have certainly captured that early morning light Alan, a superb piece of work 😀

Wish you luck Alan you certainly deserve to be a contender especially with paintings such as this with its unusual perspective. Love the way you convey the light sparkling on the sea which also indicates the horizon. I have a couple to enter but need to add at least one more.

Wonderful Alan, the light is beautifully captured. I look forward to seeing it in the 'flesh!'

Lovely tonal study Alan. The series is progressing well.

Ethereal Alan - what a wonderful blue.

Just lovely Alan, what a beautiful blue and I like the little touches of red. Good luck!

Love the dynamic use of lines and marks, and the super composition. Fabulous work, Alan!

This is beautiful, Alan. Gorgeous sparkly sea :)

Love the morning blues, and the perspective, not easy. All the best with the TAPC this year.

This is dazzling Alan! Absolutely gorgeous colour.

Wonderful, I love the haziness especially on the horizon, and those two little boats in the foreground are spot on Alan. Good luck with the comp.

Nice work - I feel very cold!

Lovely atmosphere, saw your article in the Artist magazine, well done......

Stunning use of blues Alan.

Beautiful Alan! Good luck!

Clever composition taking your eye first to the long shadows, then to the boats in the foreground, up to the boathouse and on out to sea to the red sail. Dreamy...

Thanks so much for all your kind comments, it is of course the lifeboat station which makes an interesting feature.

The colour makes this for me Alan. It's a beauty!!

Stunning Alan, love it .

Goodness - what an amazing painting

Super painting, Alan, Majestic in it's simplicity

Gorgeous light, love your "on high" perspective.

Oil on MDF board 20 x 20in. The second of six paintings that I am entering in this year’s TAPC Open competition. I’ve kept this version simple and with very little detail, concentrating more on tonal values and light. They are all referenced from my own material including plein air drawings from my sketch books. It’s great to hear that a number of you are having a shot at it as well. Good luck to you all.
