Lovely work Aan. Great sense of distance as in all your paintings.

A very, very good lesson there - you CAN have a second focal point: it's very hard to pull it off, but it's done brilliantly here.

This is beautiful, Alan. A lovely tranquil winter scene.

A classic Alan, very well done.

Very attractive composition, Alan. Love the format.

It's a beauty Alan Merry Christmas

A perfect Christmas scene, Alan :)

Happy Christmas Alan, love the scene, with just a hint of the base showing through.

It's lovely Alan! Snow is forecast in your part of the world over the weekend I believe so you will have lots of ideas for your painting.

Lovely winter scene, Alan, love the muted colours and wide format.

Lovely winter scene - Happy CHRISTMAS to you, Alan

A smaller one for you Alan I nearly missed it! Like the effect the under painting has on the atmosphere of the scene and weather conditions.

Great winter scene, Alan.

Lovely scene great format Alan.

Thanks everyone, greatly appreciated by me as always.

Great as usual, love the wide format.

What I like about this one Alan is the way you've let a lot of the underpainting show through giving it texture and interest. ( If I tried that it would just look unfinished :) )

Beautiful loose painting Alan and I love the haziness and subtlety of the distant trees.

In total contrast to my last watercolour snow scene, and back to my favourite medium again. I’ve drawn in the church as a simple negative shape, with just a light shadow falling on the mellow stone work. The splash of colour on the farmhouse was added to balance the composition and act as a second focal point, something that can work if you get it just right! Small at 20 x 50cm and a rapid painting in traditional oils on Talen’s premium canvas board.
