Lovely sparkle Alan, sounds tricky too.

Sounds like a lot can go wrong in that process...but worth it for images like this. Love it.

Sounds scarily technical, but worth the effort.

Yes Alan I vaguely remember a few etchings I did lovely work

As Carole has pointed out, the sparke on the water gives this life.

Thank you all for your comments. It is a bit tricky when you first start, but you soon get the hang of it. Drypoint etching is a bit more difficult to get a good print, sucking the ink from those small incised lines - I'll pop a few of my rejects on next week.

That sparkle is stunningly sparkly!! Sounds a terrifyingly difficult technique!! Super result though!

Its got a really lovely sparkle to it Alan, sounds very laborious but well worth it.

Lovely result. I wouldn't be able to do that with my hand roller!

A lovely sparkle on the seaAlan, and a technique not for the faint hearted.

Lovely , Alan. If I'm honest, I don't have a clue about the technical details, but I love the result..

Glorious result Alan! I will be watching your printing successes and also digging out your article ref printing from the POL archives. Perhaps you could approach Dawn about covering the next step in printing in another article/demo?

Very eye-catching - great colours and marks.

Lovely sparkle on the water.

Sounds too much like hard work to me😀 seriously it looks great and the sparkle in the water is super.

Thanks again to you all, I appreciate your comments.

Image size 7 x 9in. Monotype printed on 200gsm Fabriano Rosaspina paper and Akua Intaglio ink. This was printed using two pulls through the press, the first to establish the background, when dry the boats and detail were printed on top. Can be a bit tricky to get both plates lined up in sync, but the results can be worth it.
