Great effect Alan. Nice balance, tones, colours and the spire against that great sky draws your eye hypnotically.

Hi Alan sad to hear your lacking inspiration but I like this one a lot , I'm sure you will bounce back shortly , your too talented not to.

Very intriguing sketch, Alan (without inspiration. Let alone WITH inspiration!).

I know you are struggling for that 'spark' at the moment Alan but I have to tell you, that your work IS inspiring.

I have to agree with Fiona, this is inspiring work.

Amazing work, Alan, superb sky and light in background and beautiful matching colours.

Superb light distance and grandeur Alan

Very very attractive painting Alan. I love the skyline and the foreground very striking painting.

No mistaking your work for anyone else's. Inspiration has been flagging here, too, but I sense it creeping back - happily, it always has.

Great "panache" here Alan and CONGRATULATIONS at Patchings!

Full of colour, Alan, which is beautiful. Congratulations on your Award at Patchings! I saw it there on Thursday. Well done!!!!

Thanks everyone, appreciated. Still don't know about any award at Patchings not had any correspondence from them, so will wait and find out.

Love the drama and movement in this, Alan. In Carol Marine's book there's a whole chapter on artists' block or lack of inspiration and feeling to paint. One of the artists writing a piece for it says " Honout the ebb", I'm sure there is work going on behind the scenes.

Wow, this is gorgeous Alan! Full of colour and character. I love how the brushwork shows when painting on MDF.

Really like this Alan, especially the colours and the foreground detail of the grasses or twigs. (I'm also struggling at the moment - my energies have been diverted to the garden and I'm finding it hard to get started again with my painting.)

Oil on primed MDF board 500 x 500mm, painted last week en-plein-air. Just putting a few older ones on as I am having a short break from painting, lacking inspiration at the moment.
