This is nice too, Alan, lovely colours and touches.

A appreciate it was the scene in front of you but what an unusual composition with the circular field in front - it certainly works

A great summer scene Alan.

Nice to see an oil from you, I especially like the distant trees and sky. I find the foreground 'fringe' a bit strong but you have reduced it in the centre so it does not block the view, as artists often do by accident.

Very neat .... Good greens. I prefer your other one of these.

Fantastic piece, Alan.

Superb brushwork and composition, Alan. Excellent variation of shapes and spaces.

You don't sound as though you are as enthusiastic about your earlier work, such as this and the last one you posted Alan but there are some lovely passages in both. The distant, dark tree line on the right with the glimpse of the yellow field is wonderful. As are the shapes in the trees and directional marks in the fields.

Your old style of what you see is what you get, is so far removed from your style now, but nonetheless a very accomplished painting.

Hang on Studio Wall

This is the second 'green' oil that I painted on the same day, 24 x 30'', en-plein-air from a friends garden, what a fabulous vista, roll on summer.
