Snap Alan!! Really love the dark passages running through this and the areas of dry brushwork. Really makes the whole thing sparkle.

A vibrant watercolour Alan.

I've just looked at Fiona's and now yours Alan, both distinctive palettes. Interesting how you can spot a style. A nice task to set yourself, I can see the immediacy in this.

If this is your view from your window, I am impressed as I am with the painting itself. I am not quite as disciplined as you with studies, but I am doing them when I can. It's fun and keeps the creative juices going.

Another good one Alan. Would be interested to know your palette

Lovely balancing act Alan

A gorgeous view Alan, such lovely colours :)

A very striking, powerful image, Alan.

Yes it is worthwhile Alan, lovely sky as always.

I think I read that Constable painted the sky every morning, seemed to work for him! Lots of movement in that sky, judging from that threatening cloud on the right it was a good decision to sketch indoors!

Thank you all so much for your comments, and Michael, here are the colours...

All Pip Seymour from the Turner range, Indigo, Bergundy Yellow Ochcre, Burgundy Apricot Ochre and Madder Lake.

A smashing different looking palette Alan!

Truly superb work, Alan. I love the palette and the range of tones. Beautifully painted.

Lovely, Alan. What a target to set yourself!

Too wet to paint outside today so just did this quick watercolour sketch, I've set myself a target of making time to paint a sky a day, a fairly simple challenge but worthwhile. Turner Blue paper, 11 x 15''.
