This castle series of yours is just so dramatic. Brilliant in both in composition and execution of colour etc.

You've more than succeeded in making it interesting. It pulsates with life, and still represents the solidity and massive structure of the castle.

All your paintings are amazing Alan, they're beautiful and truly interesting.

I think this is fantastic Alan, the colours are brilliant.

Bags of drama once again, you have produced lots of texture on the castle walls.

Perfect choices Alan top drawer

Super colour combinations Alan and your exciting calligraphy trees..........this has a romantic feel to it, is that down to the palette or the soft light on the face of the castle? I am expecting a damsel to appear at the top of the tower........

I like the inclusion of the green from the foreground on the tower itself, it draws you up the length of it. Beautiful!

Thank you all for some positive comments, I will continue with the series.
Fiona, I've given up waiting for a 'damsel' to appear...

Absolute stunner, rich colours and brilliant marks Alan.

I really like this series Alan, so dramatic and dynamic, the colours are so vibrant!

wonderful painting, so vibrant

Really lovely, Alan.

Such a freedom in your paintings Alan! You have created a powerful and interesting scene out of an ordinary castle. We recently had a demonstrator at our art club who had chosen a very boring photo of a castle to paint from and what he did was very boring too. I wish we had had you instead!!

Some more lovely comments again and I am grateful, bad or good, we are all learning. Satu, I would have loved to demonstrate this technique to your art club, and thank you for the compliment.

You surely know how to make a boring building spring to life. All those colours....fabulous.

The energy leaping off this page is amazing, Alan! Love the textures and the vibrancy of the piece. Splendid work indeed!

It looks a wild an scary place! Love your bold use of colour to give this castle the character and feel that it obviously evokes.

Very atmospheric, it makes me want to walk inside the castle.

Mixed medium 11 x 15'' Fabriano 300lb HP. Same MO as last night's posting. Quite difficult to make interesting, no architectural features as such, so tried to show texture in the walls. I used the information that I had to create a close-up view to show perspective and make the castle look more dramatic.
