This is lovely Alan, beautiful bold shapes and colours.

This is so different Alan, at first I thought it was ink the colours are so vibrant, will look forward to your demo in the February newsletter 👍😀

Great colours and shading. Excellent.

Stands out because of the rich colours. Excellent.

Absolutely stunning work, Alan. Superb palette that emphasizes the light and shadow of the scene beautifully.

This caught my eye straight away, Alan, lovely colours and I especially like the way you’ve outlined a lot of the shapes.

love the colours

I really like the way you have interpreted this Alan. It caught my attention.

A strong and bold painting Alan.

I like the way you have drawn with the black Alan, - it gives a real sense of structure to the building. It’s a dramatic painting and the colours are great!

Wow - that is different Alan but it is really striking with your bold use of line and contrasting warm and cool coloured. Strong painting.

Thank you for all your constructive comments, always appreciated!

Interesting change in style Alan, and very effective.

This has all the elements that we expect of you, Alan and, as we expect, you have produced a great piece of art.

Love the strong shapes and bold colours but can’t help thinking a ghost is about to pop up behind the gravestones.

Its been a few years now since my visit to this famous abbey, you need a month to capture it all in paint. I’ve concentrated on bold shapes using value/tonal structure, as well as a limited palette. I’ve taken a fairly free approach to this subject, drawing in the framework with bold black lines, and introduced layers of glazing as it progressed. It’s in a 5-stage WIP which will feature in the e-newsletter next February, I’ve also included a short ‘top tip’ section on glazing. Oil on primed MDF 20 x 20in.
