What a great picture, so full of character. Love the picture in his shirt pocket. You are so talented.

A beautiful portrait, so well painted. The draping and the wrinkled !! skin are so real. Lovely. Do you live in Montana?

What a brilliant portrait. The lighting, the pose, the intriguing photo in the pocket, the handling of the shirt. But putting all that to one side the character in the face is fantastic. This I am sure will remain in your family, it should do, it will be a treasure for the future. The way he turns his face away speaks to me of someone who is not vain, and not accustomed to being looked at. I bet he is a lovely chap. What more can I say wow, this image together with the one Jennifer posted of the Gormley statues has started my day with a super buzz.

Smashing portrait and expertly painted. There is such a lot to look at and admire. I am sure your step dad is really pleased with this. Excellent.

A wonderful painting - you have captured the man's warmth, and wisdom.

Wow, what a magnificent portait, and as above he looks like a very warm and charming man.

A lovely portrait. Great expression and the folds on his shirt are great. I'm sure he is proud of it.

Thank you all for the great comments. As of today he has not seen it, but I'm sure in his own silent type of way he will enjoy it. All these years I never new the horror he experienced in Vietnam. til recently from a very good source. I've never heard him say a word about it.

What a superb painting of a special man. You must be very proud of him and he of your remarkable talent.

A brilliant portrait !!!!

You have done him a great honor, a brilliant natural looking portrait.

A Painting to honor a Vietnam war Veteran/ Cowboy living in Montana. He doesn't brag about the fish he catches, he brings the pictures. I'm proud that he's my step dad. Acrylic on 24x18 Canvas, by A.F.Branco copyright 2009
