A brilliant idea... And brilliantly executed. $50,000, eh? I'll start saving now... though surely your wife would miss it? There's a touch of the Normal Rockwell's about this: I'm still intending to post a self-portrait, but I know I can't compete!

Very original deserves to be placed even if you don't win. I dare not attempt a self portrait because I am so good looking it would depress too many visitors..................... Well done.

Very original idea, I too thought it was shaving foam but then I saw the paintbrush. I'm sure it will do well in the competition. Good Luck.

I painted this for a self portrait competition. The hardest part of this painting was having to look at my self for so long. I now have an even greater appreciation for my wife.
