This is very good Adele. You've caught the mood perfectly.

Oh I say Adele, this is excellent, the seamless blending in the sky is gorgeous. I got grubby with pastels today too....my result isn't a patch on this though. If I have the courage I'll post later.

Come on Fi don't let the side down - anyway where do you think I got the courage to try pastels again?

That's all well and good Adele but what about MY reputation???lol Wait a minute, what reputation.....okay here goes, no smirking now!

Love it. The colours are dramatic.

This is amazing I love the colours so mystical.

Fantastic eerie atmosphere in this painting Adele. Black paper is a very good idea, it adds drama and the colours come out beautifully.

I like this too Adele, the colour of the sky is fantastic.

Really good Adele, I love the sky colours and the way it reflects on the water. Great.

Thanks all very much for those lovely comments - It encourages me to carry on.

lOVELY ADELE , REAL MOODY.

Terrific blending, Adele. Fabulous palette too.

Lovely work great glow in the sky

A lovely piece, Adele. I like the contrast of the dramatic light against the calmness of the dusky scene.

I have spent a tremendous fun-filled, grubby day with my pastels. Taken from a photo curtesy of Pixaby. Hubby loves this, but to be quite honest, I'm not sure about it. One thing I am certain about is that I am in danger of catching the pastel bug, along with the monoprinting bug. Are there enough hours in the day or will I need to stay up all night as well!

About the Artist
Adele Elgood

When I was a young girl my parents had a large mirror which had an etching of a "crinoline lady" on. I would spend hours copying this. In the 1960's when I was at Secondary school, I was told to give up painting and drawing as I was useless and would never be any good. Following these words of…
