Fabulous! Adele. Very taken by Fibre Art which I saw in a local gallery only recently, it is amazingly effective. Must be quite satisfying to be able to 'poke' an eye out with the resulting scream!!

Thanks Jennifer - you are terribly "bloodthirsty!" But yes, it is good to be able to take out your frustrations on an innocent fibre-made person.

Very effective, Adele.

Adele my jaw fell open when I saw this fantastic piece of work. It's absolutely STUNNING. What a wonderful design, oh my gosh it is so brilliant, you must be delighted with it, I hope you are going to frame it and put it on your wall!

Absolutely amazing Adele - love it !

Thank you for your lovely comments Dawn, Margaret and Donna.

A very classical portrait Adele and despite the difficulties, a beautiful success!

Amazing piece Adele superb

I have never seen this type of work before, and I have no idea how it is done. but it is an amazing work of arts am sure it took quite a while. the girl is the painting(?) is lovely well done Adele.

Thank you Tao. It can be intricate when detailing and then I find I can just have lots of fun swirling the hair around.

Thank you for your lovely comments Fiona and Dennis. Makes all the hair pulling worthwhile.

Very well done indeed Adele. The blue background lights everything up, amazing result and you've not been doing this for long.

Thank you for your comments Marjorie and Gudrun.

Very beautiful Adele, love the image especially her hair. I can understand the difficulty with facial features but you have done a great job!

I'd say all that grief was worth it, because the result is super! Love the varied textures, and the palette. It's a very vibrant and delightful piece.

Thank you very much for the lovely comments Carole and Seok.

This is quite amazing Adele, I didn't realise that it's felt until I saw the word. I have no idea how you do it but the result is remarkable. Well done indeed!

Thank you Satu. It is wool fibres just before it is spun into wool and these dyed fibres are punched into the material with a barbed needle - commonly known as needlefelting.

This is beautiful Adele .

Thank you Val.

Wow,thats different, and difficult by the sound of it Adel.....what type of paint did you use?. Cheers. Peter

Thanks Peter - no paint, it is very fine, dyed wool fibres. They are punched with a long barbed needle into a thick felt support. Thought they would be less mess than paint - ha ha! Instead of now cleaning up after a painting session, I have to run around with the vacuum cleaner. 😒

FIBRE ART - SIZE - 17" (44cm) x 21" (53cm) APPROX. WORKED ON 6mm PRE-FELT. Almost tore my hair out with this one. Not very good at portraits and I have poked her eyes out around 5 times, ripped her lips off about 4 times and pushed her nose to all different angles! Taken from an "Art Nouveau" photo on the internet with a few tweaks.
