Shows you have moved forward in leaps and bound Adele. The ores, make me smile.

I had to look hard before I saw those horses Adele! But I like this, especially the orange wheels.

The orange wheels certainly stand out Adele. This piece shows your versatility. Well done.

Nice painting Adele looks like what they call a wheeliight

I like the colours used, Adele, especially those orange wheels!

I think it's a smashing painting Adele. I've looked at it for some time it's so interesting. Love the puddles and mud!

This is really interesting there is so much to see and the depth of colour is amazing.

Those roof tiles have it for me.

Thank you all for these lovely comments. Marjorie, those horses caused me quite a bit of grief so being small, you can't laugh at them too much!

I like the mud and puddles, wellies needed certainly.

Almost certainly Ellen - thank you for the comment.

I do like this - perhaps it's the way the various shapes sit together - an unusual composition which works so well.

Look at your ellipses and perspectives....I'm envious!

Your horses are most definitely horses- not a donkey in sight Adele!! I think this is lovely, and very worthy of making the 'selection for July' at the top of the page!

Very good. It reminds me of a working blacksmiths forge I passed on my way to infant school. I loved the smell of the red hot meta and the sound of the blacksmiths hammer on the anvil. The horses waiting to be shod looked very large to me.

It's a super painting Adele, lots to look at.

Thanks very much for your great comments everybody.

Lovely composition Adele and a very realistic picture.

This is a really interesting scene, Adele, and you've captured it really well. There's a lot of atmosphere and the orange wheels hold the eye very nicely. Great work!

Thank you Chandra and Seok.

Oil on Board - There is a Folk Museum in a village on the North York Moors and it had this Forge. I was fairly new to painting and decided to develop it a bit. I also put in the two "horses" - l behind the forge and one in the stable. I use the term "horses" very lightly as they have turned out looking more like donkeys - hee haw!

About the Artist
Adele Elgood

When I was a young girl my parents had a large mirror which had an etching of a "crinoline lady" on. I would spend hours copying this. In the 1960's when I was at Secondary school, I was told to give up painting and drawing as I was useless and would never be any good. Following these words of…
