I really like your colours Adele! The striking red of the houses shines against that blue

It's a lovely piece Adele.

You have captured Whitby really well Adele. I can see why your Uncle loves it.

Love Whitby...would like to see a Goth painting!!!

Hi Adele this is a lovely coastal scene . About our reality, everything you experience is information our world and us are made of energy which vibrates in the same way as a computer is energy (electricity) and the binary code is the vibration from 0s to 1s.i f you read this light waves "energy" goes into your eyes and the vibrations deliver the information which fires the neurones in your head and you then see the picture in your head . Same with hearing a sound wave "energy" and vibrations "information" then your mind turns the information into the sound. If I stick a pin in your hand a message is sent to the brain and you feel pain if you stop the message you can put pins in all day there is no such thing as pain only the message that's how pain killers work they stop the message. I can tell you much more your mind creates that's why the placebo effect works if your mind believes you have had the medicine and you produce yours in the future as healed . Go on Tom Campbell my big toe its all there he is a mass particle physics it he also does shifting consciousness known as out of body experience I'm interested in what you think let me know.

Excellent. The amount of detail, a lady of patience I see.a really nice job and I love the inquisitive gull, a nice touch.

It's a lovely composition Adele.

I love Whitby, this is so fresh and bracing Adele, a beauty.

And great use of colours 0 it all comes together so well.

Adele, I love this, it's full of seaside atmosphere, and brought to life by the expressive little gull.

Not surprised your uncle loves it Adele it is so cheerful and colourful.

This is really lovely and also a place I would love to visit, this makes me want to all the more.

A lovely painting and I like the wary gull

Thank you everyone for the positive comments - I was a little reluctant to put this on as another artist recently put a really beautiful one on of Whitby and I felt this could never match up to that one. Still they are our own interpretations when all is said and done. The seagull looks quite benign when in fact, up close they frighten me with that gimlet eye and sharp beak! Peter, you never know a goth painting might appear in the near future. Dennis, thank you for that information, will have a look at that over the next couple of days and let you know what I think - very interesting topic.

I can see why your Uncle loves it, lovely painting and live the cheeky seagull!

You've lost me dennis but you're a thinker not like wot I is. But this subject is a classic for us north country folks and Adele has got it just right.

Thank you Lisa and Derek. Glad to like it.

Love the brave use of colour and contrasts, works beautifully. Makes me smile!

Thank you Susie.

Oil on Board - An early painting I did for my uncle. A lot wrong with it, but he loves it - bless him!

About the Artist
Adele Elgood

When I was a young girl my parents had a large mirror which had an etching of a "crinoline lady" on. I would spend hours copying this. In the 1960's when I was at Secondary school, I was told to give up painting and drawing as I was useless and would never be any good. Following these words of…
