Good detailing with pastels. Whenever you use pastels and want to lock the effect of shade ,apply a bit of varnish spray on it, so it will not blend with other colours and will give a good effect and life. Its like taking safe side while using them.

Good advice, will try that myself Manashree if I get the dreaded messy pastels out again. Good drawing here Adele of a super subject and focal point

Thanks for the advice everyone. Have tried spraying fixative on my pastel before but it just "blew" the pastel away. Is varnish spray different from fixative, Manashree?

Its almost the same but in India we get a spray can of Artist professional Varnish by Camlin which is a brand. I majorly use dry and oil pastels both so i use it whenever i dnt wish to become a mess. We do have fixative available but i have never tried.

Lovely sensitive painting with beautiful colours.

Thank you Jackie. These colours really attracted me when I saw them.

So peaceful and the colours are so beautiful.

Yes the colours really attracted me Donna. Whenever I visit a church or cathedral I have to sit down and take in that sense of peace that always seems to surround them.

Beautiful done, Adele! I like pastels too but I'm allergic to the dust :-(
