You could open it as an art gallery Adele. I like the good solid construction in this painting. More subtle colouring in the colours would make it shine more I feel.

A charming capture of something that maybe lost. Give a copy to the council as a reminder. Adele, the post box looks like it's part of the wall. I know some are built in but I think this is a circular box on the pavement.

Thank you for your helpful comments. Yes it would be a pity if it was lost. Like the art gallery idea, John. Taking on board all your advice. Do you know Dennis, I never noticed! But you are right. How would I have shown it was some way away from the wall as the post box probably wouldn't have cast a shadow?

Adele, I think you have painted the wall and ground round the box which has compounded the view. I believe a little more of the pavement could be defined, it's tone for instance, but next time paint the box after you have finished the other things.

This Post Office has been in the High Street a very long time. The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Wade are very elderly and have tried, in the past to sell it. Unfortunately in these times, with the Post Office going through so many changes, it remains without a buyer. There is another Post Office in the small town (yes two in one town - how indulgent), and I feel that once the owners retire, this post office will become another statistic and close. What a shame!
