I like the contrasting soft, vague background with the stark, defined shapes of the foreground Alison. Great ferns.

This was inspired by a recent local walk a cold snowy day. The mist was so thick, it created a mysterious, eerie atmosphere. I wanted to capture this mood, as well as highlighting the drooping ferns in the foreground. Painted in watercolour with ink.

I took up art when I retired a few years ago and I am still developing my style. My passion is watercolour and my aim is to keep improving my techniques and adopt a looser approach. I have had some success in local exhibitions and have sold some of my paintings.
