Fabulous work and great story to go with it. The expression is wonderful. I also have a Fude pen...best piece of art equipment I have ever bought!

I love it and what a great story, swans can be aggressive so you were lucky!

Love this, it's brilliant.

I must acquire a Fude pen! But the talent to go with it would be useful.... I love this: Heather says swans can be aggressive - indeed they can: but when they are, there's a reason. I have communed successfully with swans: they just need to know you're on their side, and what better way to demonstrate that than flapjack?

Love it. Great story, great sketch.

This is a wonderful close-up of the swan and the tilt of the head gives him such character. A great piece!

Love this, great sketch and story behind it.

Thanks for your comments everyone. Always appreciated. Im glad you enjoyed the story. I’m still a novice with the Fude pen and acrylic inks but I’ll keep trying

What a great character and a magical one for you…. You produced a wonderful piece of art Martin. I have spent many hours in Clumber Park, now live in Derbyshire so not been there for many years.

Thanks Carole he was a character. I visit Clumber Park regularly as a walker and as a sketcher with my art group. Also in Derbyshire a lot as our annual exhibition is held at Castleton. Both inspiring places

During a break whilst sketching at Clumber Park I opened my flapjack and stood back from the easel. Within a moment I found this cheeky chappie on the end of my hand sharing my snack. What a character. We finished the flapjack together but my new pal wouldn’t believe it was all gone until he’d nibbled my fingers to make sure! Great experience but I ended up in a sea of expectant water birds. Fude pen and acrylic inks on watercolour paper A4
