That looks like it has a nice point to it Alan. I will look out for them and pick a couple up.
Alan you are correct they were the first on the market, hence most similar pens are known as biros . I thought I had seen them somewhere obviously in a stationary setting my son in law works in the stationary business.
thank's for showing your pen Denise:) BIC = Nostalgie, Those were the very first pens we ever had, and they are still sold everywhere here to this day in the supermarkets (Coop, Migros)
Everyone should have a Bic to hand. John has issued me a challenge. He asked would I be doing the risen Christ for Monday. I said I wouldn't get chance to do it in biro as it's slow going. He challenged me to use any medium and he will also use a medium of his choice. So, watch out for John's interpretation and my interpretation on Monday. I always enjoy a challenge.
In 1951 when I was 11 years old, a boyfriend of my Sister used to take me to watch Bristol Speedway. I used his pen to fill in the results of the races in the programme. I had to have my tonsils removed at this time and when I came home from hospital he generously gave me his pen. It was a ball point pen made by a company set up by Mr Laszlo Biro who perfected and patented his pen in 1938. We could not use them, or fountain pens  at school only dip pens were allowed. I think Denise has made far better use of hers than I ever did of mine.
Not promising anything, I have a lot on this weekend, but I’ll also have a go with my trusty Rotring Ticky and Tombow pens. It will only be a rapid 30/40 minute sketch… or scribble, in my gung-ho style - I can’t do neat stuff these days unfortunately!

Great Alan and if anyone else wants to do John's challenge, all welcome.
It would be great if a few more would join in… I used to enjoy Dawn’s regular challenges, I particularly remember that juxtaposition challenge she set us! Anyway, my drawing will be my interpretation of the subject to hand, not a copy… so will probably look nothing like A D’s brilliant portrait or portrayal!
Yes, I  will also be doing my own interpretation with no references.
Is there a particular painting that will be used or can we use different interpretations . I might have a go but in watercolour depending on how family commitments go.

That sounds good thinking outside the box as they say.
