Wonderful interpretation Denise.
It’s extremely professional looking Denise, this ought to make Editors choice of the month in one of the two magazines! You never know…
That's extremely kind of you to say Alan and I'm happy that this study has been a really good learning process for me. I would go about it a different way knowing, what I  know now. If I started it again, through, what I have learned, I think, I would produce a painting, that would be much better. It's been really enjoyable painting the ups and downs of it.
I'll post my version when I can take a decent photo of it - it being too tacky to easily move is presenting a problem - but I see I have much to compete with: still - as you say, you've learned a lot; I thought you would, and as I see I've already said, so have I.   It's actually quite a difficult subject, with a lot of technical problems to be taken into consideration. Did you use oil?  It looks as if you used acrylic - hard to tell on a screen.  Anyway - good job!
It is oil Robert  and I thought it was a great challenge. I think everyone who tried did a great job of it and I recommend more try as there is much to be accomplished when doing things like this. I think sunsets are on the cards this weekend.
Good luck with your sunsets Denise, I’ve suggested a good range of colour combinations in my last article - but the temptation is generally to go overboard with colour - moderation in the key word!
That is one stunning painting, Denise.
Love this thread, its really interesting to see different approaches to the same outdoor subject.
I have had one hell of a job photographing this - it's small, it's reflecting glare from the oil in it, and this is taken from my computer camera - and it's STILL not right.   But until we get better light; and it dries out properly; and I get a better camera; and I become a better photographer, it's the best I can do.
Turned out well I must say… like the thick application of paint and the foreground trees stand out superbly!
I really like your interpretation of the photo. You have painted a beautiful painting. Grand job, Robert, I must say.
Good one Robert.  We have enjoyed your challenge .
