Sylvia, I couldn't resist your beautiful photo of the Welsh foxgloves; I've been trying to get a decent photo for ages! Thank you so much for posting yours; I finally got round to starting this yesterday!
A beautiful painting.
Karen, that is lovely. Super detail.
Thank you Paul. Thank you Tessa too; I admire your painting of the foxgloves very much; I was trying to produce a loose painting too and I started ok with the background!! However, by the time I got to the foxgloves, all my good intentions went out of the window and I was back to over-fiddling! 🤦‍♀️
Karen that is @ beautiful painting.  So happy you like the original photograph  and it inspired you.
Excellent painting Karen.
Thank you Sylvia and Denise.
Wow! smashing painting, Karen.
There's much to be said for 'fiddling'.  There's no law that says you must paint loose.  I think people get too hung up on this looseness mantra: it has its place, but it's unlikely to produce results like this.
That's excellent Karen! From glossy leaves to great background. Not to mention the sparkling blooms....
Thank you very much Carol and Norrette. Thank you too Robert for your encouragement. I think I am happy to be a more relaxed fiddler now; this painting took about 8 hours whereas one of my first paintings took 11 weeks of fiddling! 😂 It's been great to see other artist's work on POL and to learn from them over the last year.
