I messaged Brian yesterday I informed him that there were quite a few people upset by his recent post in the gallery and asked if he would remove it as it was offensive to other artists . I have had no response but assume that he took onboard my request and other people feelings unlike another artist who quite frankly doesn’t care who is offended Brian has removed it and I believe he did not intend to offend anyone hence the blocking out on the painting and he did say why he had done so . I think credit should be give for his decision to remove the painting when asked or he just acted on what he had read on the forum but either way he removed it. I explained that we do have nudes on the gallery at time and I did myself comment on one of his earlier posts, but this was one was to near the mark .

Nothing particularly wrong with his other nudes, apart from being badly drawn anatomically but not offensive!
That’s what you get when you’ve never spent any time in a real ‘life class’ situation with no tutorial advice - for one, you would never be confronted with a pose like that, and copying from a two dimensional image in a magazine or online source will rarely lead to a successful result. I’m certainly not impressed with his sourced material.
On this occasion, I didn’t like his ill considered decision to think that this was an appropriate or acceptable posting for this (or any) website…clearly I’m not alone here.
I’m less generous than Paul, I’m not giving him any credit for removing it, he should have never considered posting it in the first place!

Through the night, I commented on the post.I mentioned that I thought Eric was arrogant and when people discussing the actual artwork, he turned it into an opportunity to inflame a situation, making an atmosphere for a personal attack, going off topic altogether. I also said, I would not waste time commenting on the piece and it should be removed. I also mentioned personal attacks on people are ignorant and immature.

Yes Denise, what you fail to mention is, that I was making a comment about the post. I asked Robert a legitimate question about why he was being wishy washy about the subject in the first place when he knew good and well he found it repellent from the beginning... just would not say so.. and made a legitimate statement and Robert responded with a personal attack against me. You either didn't read it, or you did read it, and chose to ignore it because he is your friend. You accused me of instigating personal attacks, when in actuality it was Robert who instigated it, I simply responded... Surprise, surprise, you sided with your friend.. wow, didn't see that coming/... What I said was perfectly true by the way...
