Yes, I think the ear is very convincing. As Robert says, there is some latitude with ears. The whole thing is looking really good.
First class work.  Interesting that you've used paper.  Making art this way is something I have no experience of, but your reasons for using paper make perfect sense.
Thanks a lot Sylvia and gents for keen words 😉 Much appreciated!  To be honest - I've never been enjoying pyrography as much... It could be down to these lovely dog faces, or maybe it's this paper that just *clicked on? I remember some saying.., that there's no bad artists out there, just wrong mediums they use... I've tried pyrography on the paper before, but this one is just pleasure to work with. Forgive I won't put the name of the paper now, it's upstairs, but as far as I remember it's acrylic primed... Maybe this acrylic primer is making the paper so pleasing to burn on it? I've been asked for another commission of the baby girl, I'm tempting to try this paper once more...

Art, I intend to have a go at burning with paper rather than wood panels and I'd love to know what paper you're using.

I'll let you know when I get home late evening. ● AN update to the previous John. Here you go - few photos of the paper I'm using. I'd suggest - use any paper you have already, so you will get the first impression, before you spend any money... You might don't like the paper I'm using you see... It has the canvas subtle texture, it isn't silky-smooth at all. Also I'm not aware if they do smooth version or not. Good luck, and let us know please!

Sorry I've only just seen this Art. Thank you very much for showing me which paper you use. I will indeed try some papers I already have, just to get a feel for burning on paper, but it's good to have your recommendation too, having seen what a fabulous job you can do with it.
You're very welcome John. I'm not frequently checking the forum updates myself, so don't be sorry for anything. I'm blaming myself because I'm not spending much time on this artwork... My friend is not in a hurry, he said it's meant to be a Christmas gift... Therefore I'm keep working on it spontaneously shall I say... So here it goes - latest update. I've covered up both dogs with the fur. Now I'm about to improve it even more, wherever possible, and I'll call it finished then 😊 Please don't put too much attention to the frame - it's artificial frame added by me to share on Facebook...
And . ..  And some more work on the darker dog today 😊 ● You can watch it here...
Looking very good and fascinating to watch.
