After a couple of weeks sunning myself on the South Coast, back to it! Another surprise painting, this time of three classic racecars. First job was to work with fairly low res images and compose them, along with a company logo, on a 20x16” board: I’ve removed the logo here as it’s a bit of a giveaway on a surprise painting! Hope to get a start tonight with the aim of finishing first week of September.
Looks interesting Anth  ant wait to see the progress.
Looks good Anth. Will be good to see this one as it develops. That Standard Vanguard is rather unusual (I think) to see as a racer.
Certainly is, a very unusual choice!
That's an A30 or A35 isn't it?  (Pretty faint on my PC).  For some reason that seems odd now, I used to drool over these when I was a sprog back before the flood.  I still like to see them at car shows.  Never had one...did manage an A40.  I think these were a Farina body bolted onto an A35, but my car knowledge is slight.  As always, great to watch you at work.
It is Lewis, an A35 I think (larger back window). Whilst I’m into my yank tanks, I’m a fan of the little Austins and they’re an absolute bargain at the moment. It’s going to be interesting just to paint something other than a Mustang!
Day one - got a decent start on the Vanguard: Was hoping to get a bit further on but had to clear the domestic jobs list before I started :)
No rush!  Take your time!  We all know you'll get to the finishing line in triumph! No pressure, then.............
Pressure’s what I need Robert! I function much better when there’s a deadline (which there is) and this one can be progressed in car-shaped chunks, so hoping to keep the momentum up and finish beginning of September. Sure that’ll happen!
Snigger - I don't know whether I derive more benefit from pressure or from delay: but if you respond to pressure: well then - GET ON WITH IT, you sluggardly snail!
Thanks for the added pressure Robert, much appreciated lol.
Like the colour Anth the light reflections are excellent.
