Both lovely, Sylvia :)
Your work looks nothing like Bob Ross, Alan, you have a totally different style. Look forward to your work done your way. Its the taking part that matters :)

Wow, Fiona, that is gorgeous, I could spend time in a place like that, lovely work.
In my opinion, there should be a Gallery-item exclusively for those challenges, so we can see all the entries next to each other (Dawn?...). There are some real treasures in here. Everybody made a different interpretation of the example. It really was a success. Fiona, I posted a comment in the Gallery, this is a super painting!!! http://www.painters-online.co.uk/artist/MiaKetels
Absolutely beautiful Fiona. Will also leave comment on Gallery.
Lovely work, Jenny. The first thing that sprung to my mind was 'romantic' must be the subtle colours and that full moon.
Here's my effort at last! More landscape and cabins than the original. I've also posted it on the gallery. 'Deep in Alaska?'

I like the perspective, and the lovely atmosphere that gives your work depth and distance. Wouldn't expect anything less from you, Alan, smashing work.
I'm glad I checked in to this forum on Monday (for the first time in a while) - I love the idea of a monthly challenge. I've really enjoyed looking through everyone's interpretations of the cabin in the woods, so many styles and different ideas. Here's mine. I'm away from home this week and I always take a sketchbook, pens and coloured pencils with me so used those instead of my usual watercolour. I had a lot of fun with it. I attempted to show a sense of movement in the foreground and in the chimney smoke. Kay M

Notan sketch prepared from painting on website. 12in x 8in oil on board. About 90 minutes including preparatory sketch. Apologies for quality of photograph. Enjoyable exercise to get me painting again for 2019.
Hi all at last I have managed to login to the forums thanks to Painters on line team especially Dawn Farley. Thanks for all comments on the gallery image.
Everybody has done such brilliant paintings and I'm looking forward to February's challenge now.
