Yes I reference my latest painting post Angelique.. which I feel is quite beautiful and tame... and yet some of the response is unnecessary and hostile.. I don't mind people expressing an opinion, but there is a proper way to do it.. Not trying to start any fights or hurt feelings...Just want to be treated like anyone else.. If you don't like something say nothing.. isn't that what people agree upon..   It's what I try to do...  Some would love to censor...  even what does not need censoring.

Can we pleased not get this turning into yet another battle over digital art as that’s is what’s it’s likely to turn into .  Whilst I have no problem with digital art Eric and I have often commented on your work , unfortunately you are coming across as if you are you are posting thing just to get a reaction. I’m sure that is not your aim well I hope not , one person has already left the site because of the ongoing controversy, please just stop winding people up it certainly doesn’t help your cause at all . Just for a while hold off the stuff that people are offended by and think of the reaction before posting rather that giving the opinion that  tuff I’m posting it regardless of offending some of our fellow artists male or female.

I agree with you Paul, lets not go there again... No I am not honestly posting anything to get a negative reaction. I paint all kinds of Subjects.. Women are just one.. I don't find anything offensive about the Women I paint... If other people might have a problem, that is just them...  I can't let the chance that someone might be offended, dictate to me what I create or post... I post to a lot of sites, and this is the only one where I have ever had any problems in my whole life.... Peter only left because of the Way I was being treated, not because of anything I did...
It really isn't "just them" - I've no intention of getting into all this again, but a degree of humility on your part would probably help quite a lot.
My last words on this subject is that unfortunately Eric I believe your being deliberately argumentative and refusing to consider other people’s feelings or opinions . For me as of now your work doesn’t rate a comment because of your unwillingness to listen take  on board how others feel . so I will not comment on it in future as you will probably say my choice.
It's ok Robert, you don't have to get into it... I don't want to get into again either... I already know how you feel about this subject... No need to write 4 or 5 paragraphs to tell me..  You have not convinced me of anything wrong having been done..  Just my personal opinion, which I know probably means little to you,.. I believe some people, some people you understand, not everyone... are making far too big a deal over nothing.. Just my opinion....   All I have to say....
I'm not being argumentative Paul. I understand about some, some people's feelings, and opinions, but you are not listening to what I am saying..  I had a problem once with one artist in particular and his subject matter.. I gave him some good advice on self censoring for this site in particular.. to avoid controversy in the future...He chose to ignore it and made the same good arguments I am making to you regarding censorship and other people's opinions dictating what he should do.. I understood his point, I respected it.. and that was the end of it...  I still don't like what he paints,  but I leave it alone now... I did bring it up once in the forum.. but that was the end of it...
I’ve kept out of this discussion so far but do feel that Eric has been unnecessarily provoked over his latest post - which I don’t actually find in the least bit offensive, but if I did I would just skip it and not make an issue of it.  Yes, Eric’s responses have been particularly unpleasant at times, and he has been argumentative but he’s only reacting to what he sees as unfair criticism.  I for one (and am sure I’m not the only one) am heartily sick of this ongoing bickering and would like to see an end to it.

Thank you Jenny for understanding, and saying that... I would love to see an end to it as well... The only time in the past where I ever attacked anyone, was when I was attacked first or people were trying to argue with me without really trying to understand what I was saying..  I don't know why.. no one has ever won an argument over Art really..  in the final analysis..
I'm with Jenny on this.  I can understand Eric's annoyance, he's under attack for reasons he doesn't share.  He says his work is an homage to women, others fiercely disagree.  These are opinions, they won't be resolved.  With regards to the work in question...I didn't comment on it because it didn't appeal to me.  It's a pin up.   That's my opinion, everybody gets one. I find Eric's work inspiring, and if I have to let the odd painting pass because I don't like the subject matter so be it.  It's worth it for the quality digital art he makes, there's not enough of this on POL.  I hope matters can settle down so that I can do what I like most, that's appreciate  the art I like and the 'usual' good natured banter.  I hope Eric stays with us, we're lucky to have such a gifted digital artist on the site.
