Some good work again, like your Spitfire Irene and that's a cracking painting Alan !!
Lovely sketches, Irene and Alan.  Glad you managed to find a wee bit time to paint Alan :)
Did a quick pen and wash and watercolour sketch of the Grebe Really enjoyed this.  pen and wash
I am quite enjoying doing the animals and went back through the photos to do the Rhino again pen and wash
Two really good sketches Irene.
Not shared any for a while but thought you might like a couple more this week:
I’m doing catch up with Dawn’s daily photo’s........ I messed this up really, put far too much detail in the background boat, in turn the foreground doesn’t stand out as much as I would like. I thought of putting a very weak wash of white/bluish wash over the background....? Any thoughts?
I like it as it stands and don’t think you have overdone the background boat. I personally think the sky colour is not right, don’t know if a blueish wash of darker would work?. The front boat is excellent.
Thank you Paul, appreciate your input. I left the sky the mucky palette colour because I didn’t want to over power the whole using colour. ......but your suggestion is a possibility..... Once it’s done, it’s done though. Thanks again.
Strengthen the foreground boat, and I mean considerably! It’s too close in tone to the background. It’s not that easy this one, which why I left it to everyone else. You’ve got some rather nice colours and bits of brushwork going on, almost there! It’s probably how it was on Dawn’s photo, but always do your own thing, photo’s are there for reference only! - but you know that!

If I strengthen the foreground boat too much won’t it look over worked though Al? To too heavy handed with the paint? Would it be better to weaken the background somehow.......? I might have a go at the other picture like this and tackle the background differently, in a sort of vague way. Thanks Alan for your guidance. X I’ve attempted one of Dawn’s earlier photo’s this afternoon.....not happy with the tree branches....again too over worked.
